We make choices everyday. We make ones that seem easy, and ones we deem will change our lives forever. We make choices because we believe that we have control of where we are going and what we are going to be. But in the end, choices are all the same, because we can’t really know for sure if it’s our choices that will bring us to where we want to be or it’ll be just a strange convergence of circumstance.
Choice is the most terrible thing in the world, and probably also the best, because even when our past decisions never really mattered, we can choose to look forward to making more.

Jack. I am sick to death of cleverness. Everybody is clever nowadays. You can’t go anywhere without meeting clever people. The thing has become an absolute public nuisance. I wish to goodness we had a few fools left. Algernon. We have. Jack. I should extremely like to meet them. What do they talk about? Algernon. The fools? Oh! about the clever people, of course. Jack. What fools!

"Kung kasal na, kasal na. Wala nang practice. I think that’s the real cowardice. Yung i-try muna natin kung it will work kasi takot kayo na baka hindi maging successful ang outcome. Saan na napunta ang excitement ng buhay? Kaya nga kayo in-love, para sabay kayong humarap sa totoong buhay, sa hirap at ginahawa, di ba? [...] Hindi yung pagpapraktisan muna ninyo para siguradong ginhawa lang."

| Don't hold back your tears! |

"There was a study done where a control group of 100 people were divided into two. 50 people watched a very funny, tears-of laughter type movie. 50 watched a very sad and tears of compassion type movie. At the end of the sessions researchers collected the "happy tears" and the "sad tears" with eye droppers. They found that "happy tears" are made up of brine... salt water and not a great deal else. However the "sad tears" were found to contain the very same chemicals and enzymes that are found in tumours, ulcers and other such lumps and bumps and sicknesses throughout the body. This test concluded that the body, when crying in sadness etc is literally flushing out all of the toxic-chemicals that accumulate and are a part of the sadness/heart ache experience. Therefore if one holds back those tears, those toxic-waters will find somewhere else to deposit themselves... and prolonged lack-of-crying-release will guarantee that the body will accumulate huge amount of internal pollution and toxicity that should have been released through the tears... is it any wonder that the eyes sting so much when we hold back our tears?" |
